Gold Leaf Frames, Mat Boards & Botanical Prints | Gallery Wall Favorites

Image
Gold Frames, Botanicals & Photo Mats I first located these frames when I created a botanical gallery wall in our guest room ( tour here and photos below).  Since then, I've added them to almost every corner of our home.  Some have botanicals like those in our hearth room, and some have photos like the gallery wall going up our stairs.  I haven't always been confident in my wall hanging skills - trying to determine scale, mats and genre is an acquired skill on which I'm still working.  But I have managed to create a couple of corners in our home that just work and work because of the framed prints. This corner in our living room is one of my favorites and this new look with the Antique Narrow Mats (meaning that they are oversized mats for our narrow small prints that mimic the proportion of the frame) and the tonal seaside coral prints.  It all just works with our neutral room.  The gold is the perfect bit of elegance to keep this room feeling special ...

Diamond Dot Block Print

Image
I designed the Cream Diamond Dot Block Print to be a classic - seasonless and subtle.  In the fall, it is lovely paired with browns and gold, and during the holidays it will look just as nice with evergreen.   The color is a soft, buttery beige that can read a little gold in the fall, but will also be perfectly pale in the spring.  The Diamond Dot pattern mimics quilting a little, which I love for cushions.  I'm thinking of adding these to the guest room. If you have a darker sofa (like a grey or medium brown), these are a great way to lighten up your room. They come in my three standard pillow cover sizes :  22" Large Square 20" Medium Square 25x15" Rectangle Left to Right :  Diamond Dot 22" Large Square Grey Ticking 20" Medium Square Classic Cream Stripe Rectangle I use the following inserts for the covers.  For more details, read my  Pillow Guide, here > Ikea 26" Insert   ($9.99) for my 22" Pillow Covers Ikea 20" Insert  ...

The Classic Home Collection

Image
This morning I'm taking you on a little house tour on the blog.  I've updated our home this week with accents from the Classic Home Collection .  It is also rare for me to take intentional photos of our home in sort of a natural state - and by natural, I don't mean messy (though that is probably the true natural state!), but that it isn't decorated for any particular season.  Most of my collections and photos are focused toward a certain color theme or season and I transform our home to suit it (which I love to do!), but this is our home in between.  It is filled with neutrals, muted tones.  This is our everyday "classic" home. Last week when someone asked me, "What advice do you have for someone who wants to make their home more Classic?"  My response was stop looking at magazines, stop cruising Pinterest - hunt for things  you  love.  A well curated, eclectic and loved home will always be Classic.   Personally, I love a neutral home. ...
